Arnold Schwarzenegger writes a very nice email newsletter and the other day he was being encouraging about progress and he used the phrase, “a million little tiny victories,” and this stuck with me and I’ve been drawing it various ways, here’s one
Here’s another interpretation
I hope that’s encouraging to you, too, and that you have many tiny victories in whatever form that means a lot to you. Maybe it’s starting something Very Small or keeping going on something Medium or just giving yourself a bit of a smile in the mirror.
(PS I put these up in the print/mini-print/sticker shop in case you’d like a lil reminder to have for your very own, I tend to write and stick reminders all over the place)
The Tardigrades are on their microscopic hike toward a tiny leaf that Sloth left for them as a new home on the Moon. It’s quite a journey, so sometimes motivation is needed…
Not-Tarot (Oracle-ish): Cosmic Kitty
My cat was sitting there, and I drew his little ol’ self, and then I started thinking about how we see the world through our pets and what/who matters to us, and that the people and creatures we love become this door/window on reality, and how this is one of the ways we make the cosmos accessible to ourselves, through those we care about. They are like lil windows on the world. What/who do you care about, and how do they open up the world to you?
Do you ever work on something, and then kind of put it down for a while and come back to it later? A while back I made this elephant on a Vespa but it felt unfinished. It seemed like this elephant fellow had farther to go (get it? Vroom!). And so now, I give you the super-color-enabled and fashion-forward new version. I do so love color.
If you enjoy these proceedings, would you consider sharing them with a friend? Your email might light up with an Aardvark or a Lion or I might even draw you a Thinking Card - yes yes! More details here.
License cartoons for all your book, presentation, and refrigerator-door needs from CartoonStock, they are lovely and I’ve been with them since the days of FTP-uploading one cartoon at a time.
Finally, this:
I read this two ways: One, WOW, there’s the stuff of life (I love that phrase! “Stuff of life”) all over the place. Just, all around. How cool is that. The other is, though, that we’ve looked out so very far all around in space with telescopes and everything and we have not yet found a planet supporting life. On Earth, if something is considered “rare,” it is super expensive or put behind glass or what have you. And so we should be precious about this almost impossibly rare thing we have, a planet that lets us live and goof around here. Apparently these are not a regular occurrence.
That’s all for now. Have a victorious week!
May you hear a song by Wonderful Steve, may you have a moment to ponder the cosmos or a kitty cat, won’t you be my neighbor?
